"the music that builds up once Yasuke enters combat infuses the traditional Japanese shakuhachi and koto melodies with hip-hop beats" oh dear lord. DEI TRASH.

Huey_My_D_Long26d ago

Wow sounds like something outta Samurai Champloo, but you know gotta pretend its an agenda instead just saying "Im racist"

lucian22926d ago

so he's racist because it's dumb to put hiphop in a game in japan? i myself am from brooklyn nyc; im dark skin and even i find it dumb. just like when live action aladdin had hip hop instead of arab music.......maybe just not go for the whole cultural appropriation thing.....or is it only bad when white people do it?

Inverno26d ago

It's more racist to me seeing hip hop being automatically associated with blackness, when it's more of an American thing and there are black people well outside America that have no cultural connection with hip hop. The more appropriate thing to do would be to incorporate whatever music, he as a real historical figure, would've most likely have a cultural connection to. So whatever music being performed in east Africa in the 1500s.

lucian22926d ago

hip hop was created by black americans........it's factual.....LOL that's like saying western knights and armor being thought of with europeans is racist. like what

Huey_My_D_Long26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

@lucian229
Idk if you lying, but in good faith Ill assume you arent.
Its the DEI comment, should be pretty apparent thats the racist part.
Kinda makes me question what you say since you gonna make it about "Hip Hop music in an asian setting." instead of the obvious dog whistle but hey, maybe as a dark skin brother, you are unaware of how DEI is a dog whistle for "black".

So SAMURAI CHAMPLOO is an JAPANESE ANIME set in EDO period. "The music of the 2004 anime series Samurai Champloo, created by the studio Manglobe, was produced by a team of four composers drawn from the hip hop musical scene. They were Shinji "Tsutchie" Tsuchida of Shakkazombie, Fat Jon, Nujabes and Force of Nature. The musical direction was chosen by series creator and director Shinichirō Watanabe as part of his planned blending of hip hop culture with the anime's setting in the Edo period, additionally incorporating contributions from guest artists."
Thats to the moron calling it DEI Trash, illustrating that Japanese themselves love hip hop so all of sudden when an french studio do it, its DEI, where Samurai Champloo is one of the classics.

@lucian229
Do you wanna have a conversation about cultural appropriation? Are you making the argument this is cultural appropriation?

Slow year this year, So this probably gonna be my GOTY, especially since they seem to be revamping the stealth in AC. Which is good. As much as I love the series, Ive always felt stealth has always been their weakest element, so its nice to see them fleshing it out mechanically. Yasuke looks pretty cool, but I think the new stealth stole the show.

Pardon my french, my i call BS - first game had feudal Japan vibes in modern world, before all the 2, brotherhood, revelations, 3 and such. Japan sounds amazing, this is coming from AC fan

Assassin's Creed Shadows Is Shaping Up To Be Another Hard-Hitting Classic - The Koalition

Richard Bailey of The Koalition writes: Assassin’s Creed Shadows was revealed as a cinematic world premiere trailer on May 15th. Set within feudal Japan and fixated on two playable protagonists in Naoe and Yasuke, I fully expected Shadows to be another typical Assassin’s Creed game with only a few key changes to enhance the overall experience.

This game definitely looks great so far and will satisfy those who have been waiting for an Assassin's Creed game set within Feudal Japan.
