The game everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Zenless Zone Zero arrived right on the scheduled release date and the first reviews are now in. Have you had an opportunity to try out this amazing new game?
Zenless Zone Zero is Out Now
The developers announced the release of ZZZ on the official X account. The statement read: “Zenless Zone Zero is out now! Dear citizens, good morning! Today, Ridu is basking in the rays of the glorious sunshine! While enjoying the sunshine, please remember to use sunscreen and be vigilant of sudden Companion Hollow disasters. Have a wonderful day! Welcome to New Eridu — Where Humanity Rises Anew”.
Well, the initial reviews following the release of Zenless Zone Zero are phenomenal, so far. The players are loving every single aspect of this game, from characters to storylines. Qckie noted: “So I’ve been playing six hours straight ZZZ since its launch today at 10 am (EU) and I have to say that the style and overall feeling of this game are just f**king immaculate.
This player raved: “The animations look so crisp you’d think you’re playing Persona or some sh**. Funny comic-style storytelling and the way they’re conveying the story is 10 times more comprehensive than GI and HSR (I love HSR tho)”. Another player, adaydreaming, agreed: “Comic/visual novel is such a good way of storytelling. Combined with a hint of motion graphics, and we got such a good quality world-building going on WITHOUT 3D, animation, or open-world. So fire”.
Most of the Reviews Are Positive, Even the Bad Ones
We found it funny that even the most negative reviews were still kind of full of praise. SwiftSN reported: “The gameplay is smooth as hell. Feels and looks great. I’m also a big fan of comic-style storytelling, and the freedom to use slightly more explicit dialogue. The stylistic animations are some of the best I’ve seen in any Gacha game period. Music is also very funky”.
They continued: “However, maybe it’s just not my cup of tea. I think a lot of the character designs are bland, the gameplay is far too easy, and the story (while very well presented) is linear and not too engaging for my taste. The biggest de-motivator for me is how you’re locked out of playstyles you find fun because of the somewhat stingy standard banner”.
Another common complaint is that the game isn’t compatible with all phones and it sometimes crashes, which should be fixed in the future. One player, inkheiko, said: “I’ll talk assuming that the game will eventually be fixed so I can play on my phone without it crashing every 5-15 min. I actually enjoy it a lot, it seems there are quite a lot of things around to play with, and the music is fun”.
We don’t have the ETA on that fix, but we’re sure the available codes are making the players more patient. As for the game itself, we can’t wait to see how it will develop. So far it has amassed a number of hardcore fans and we hope that number will only grow from here.
