Even though it’s the season of summer vacations, it has been an eventful week for Helldivers 2 players. The current Major Order made them cooperate and work on their tactical skills. On July 4, the developers decided to give the Helldivers 2 community a little treat in the form of new Ship Modules. They also presented the latest patch for Helldivers 2 which caused a lot of reactions.
Helldivers 2 Community Manager Announced the Patch Details
Everyone’s favorite Community Manager, Twinbeard, took to Reddit to announce the new arrivals. He stated: “Hello, Helldivers! We have issued a hotfix for players that includes fixes for players getting stuck in the Hellpod loading screen, general stability and crash fixes, and more. Oh, and there are also new ship modules available! Happy diving, everyone”.
We have to say that it’s very cool to see the official announcements on a platform that isn’t Discord. As you are probably aware, using Discord to announce big changes recently landed Arrowhead in hot water with the player base. It’s great to see that they are actively listening to the community and their requests.
Helldivers 2 players’ reactions to the patch itself were overall mixed. Most players appreciated it but expressed some completely valid concerns over it. ASlothNamedBert noted the best thing about the entire patch. They said: “The Arc Thrower now hits Berserkers in the face plate for a one-hit kill instead of the chest for 5+. I don’t know if this was intentional but it’s awesome”.
ImRevanBtch shared: “The patches are great. The Game would be even more fun if they reverted most of the previous nerfs. The Breaker would have the extra 3 ammo. Slugger would have its Stagger. Arc Thrower would get a better fire rate. Railguns hopefully would be able to kill gunships someday”.
The Latest Patch Elicits Many Negative Reactions
Other players wanted to see some more serious issues fixed. One player, wojter322, said: “The Ballistic Shield Stratagem has been broken since the last major patch 01.000.400. When you’re getting blasted by any explosives and the character is in the rag-doll state, when colliding with any surface upon landing, it 90% of the time kills you instantly or deals ridiculous damage”.
Another player, wylie102, complained: “Does anyone think that the Localisation Confusion booster now makes things worse instead of better? Since the update that “fixed” the patrols any mission I have been on before this has been absolute carnage. Before the patch it used to cool things down a reasonable amount in terms of drops, after that patch I feel like it actually makes things noticeably worse”.
We’d like to remind you that Helldivers 2 is still being worked on. There are many bugs and glitches, but given the amount of patches and fixes, the developers are very much still working on this project passionately. They are open to listening to the player base, so just be patient and the bugs that annoy you the most will be fixed at some point. If you feel like the game is draining you, please take a break and return when you’re ready. Helldivers 2 will be waiting for you.
