The main equipment in the game are weapons and Armor, which directly influence the way you deal with numerous enemies Helldivers 2 offers. Every part of your equipment serves an in-game purpose, except for cosmetic items. Capes have always been one of the coolest pieces of gear in any game and other media, and Capes in Helldivers 2 are no different. How to Unlock and Equip Capes in Helldivers 2

When you finish training, you get a special Cape representing your full Helldiver status. If you want to get more Capes, you have to unlock them via Warbonds (they cost Medals, just like everything else there). Some Capes can even be given out as a reward for special events, like the one for the liberation of Malevelon Creek.

You can equip a cape in your ship’s Armory. Alternatively, you can pick one during the Loadout screen, right before deploying on a mission.

Do Capes Offer an In-Game Bonus?

No, Capes are a purely cosmetic item in Helldivers 2.

Unlike Helmets, which were originally designed to offer some benefits but the idea was later scrapped, Capes are there purely for cosmetic value. It would be cool if they offered some minor in-game benefits, like providing camouflage if you match the color of the Cape with the environment or something along those lines.

Something similar may get added in the future, but there is absolutely no word on that for the time being.
