Helldivers 2 players haven’t made any complaints for a while. Between the new patch, the new Warbond, the new biome, and, of course, the current Major Order, it seems that the devs have managed to find the sweet spot. Now, with the excitement gradually dying down, the community has new requests. Helldivers 2 players want the Personal Order to be more similar to the Major Order.
Should a Personal Order be More Similar to a Major Order?
As you know, Personal Order, or as some would call it Daily Order, is a list that you have to complete to get a reward. The list is the same for all the players, just like the Major Order, but you don’t have to rely on anybody else, and your reward doesn’t depend on the others. So far, it sounds pretty straightforward, why would anyone have a problem with Personal Orders?
Well, players have noticed a pattern in which the enemy in Personal Order is different than the enemy in Major Order. So, if you are fighting the bots for MO, the PO would be to fight the bugs. When it’s a close call on a Major Order, the Personal Order might just lead the players away in pursuit of accomplishing personal goals, rather than fighting for the community.
A player, pointprep, said: “I hate the Major Order / Personal Order mismatches. The Major Order is to attack the bots. The Minor Order is to kill 300 bugs, and then 3 Bile Titans, and then 10 Stalkers. Is it so that people who only fight one faction can still feel included? Just to frustrate Helldivers who want to do both the Minor and Major orders?”.
SirRosstopher added: “The daily orders should compliment the MOs or be things that can be done on both (like weapon kills), but I swear every time we have a Bot MO it’s hey go kill X of this specific bug type, it’s what we’ve had for the last few days. Give us bot dailies to get some of the bug-only players to lend a hand for a few games at least, rather than driving the divers on the bot front away”.
Helldivers 2 Players Offer Solutions in Order to Help the Devs
Some helpful Helldivers 2 players offered ideas on how the devs could solve the Major / Personal Order problem. A player, talking_face, suggested: “Give 3 different Personal Orders that Helldivers can pick from using the terminals across the weapons rack. Once a Personal Order is picked, it is locked in for the rest of the duration until the next PO drops”.
BULL3TP4RK noted: “They should never clash directly, at the very least, but it should go further and push casuals towards playing the MO. Also, another person suggested that they put free stratagems only on the MO planets, and specifically mark that information on the galactic map”.
Of course, some players didn’t care for the whole ordeal. GrandRush_ wondered: “Why is this such an issue? I see the PO as an optional thing, the MO is the main thing to worry about. If you’re really worrying about a PO for 15 medals you can just do a 3-mission operation for the MO. You’ll get the same amount of medals plus whatever you find”.
Unfortunately, we don’t know the mechanics behind the POs. Maybe they’re completely random, or there is a set in rotation. The developers should probably make them complement the MOs. Although some players welcome the change of pace, or enemy in this case. Maybe the best solution is to have several options to pick from. Also, if you are a new player, don’t feel bad for picking a PO over the MO. Sure, MOs are for the greater good, but they can be overwhelming. Make sure you enjoy the game, that matters the most.
