A patch (01.000.404), released on July 4, promised to fix a lot of small but irritating bugs and glitches in the game. In all honesty, it fixed some problems but one issue that has been bothering the Helldivers 2 players persisted. Now, the Arrowhead CEO addressed the issue while answering some questions on X.
Arrowhead CEO Addresses the Allegedly Fixed Glitch
Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead, has a reputation for being dedicated to the player base and oftentimes answering their questions via X. This time, he addressed the infinite loading screen bug that has been driving the players insane.
On the morning of July 9, Will Swan said: “Shams Jorjani, just tried to play Helldivers after a week away on Elden ring. First mission infinite loading screen and crash. The second mission getting 20-30 fps. Last week I had 45-60. Unplayable. So sad”. Jorjani replied: “So sorry. Both being worked on!”.
Another player, Kakapopipishire, declared: “I’ve been stuck for 5 minutes. You mentioned this issue was fixed along with other errors. Are your developers lying about the fix, or do you not test patches? Which is it?“. The CEO replied: “This is known and being worked on! So sorry it’s still there”. He added: “Turns out the fix caught most of the cases but not all. that’s coming! We need to test a bit more – I agree”.
Helldivers 2 Players Insist They Are Still Experiencing the Issue
The Helldivers 2 players expressed a healthy dose of skepticism toward the promises of fixing a reportedly fixed issue. King_Pumpernickel noted: “Infinite loading drop is killing this game for me. Sick of seeing a random Discord snip from a CM saying “It’s definitely probably maybe fixed this time guys!” And it’s just as bad if not worse than before. Not just for this issue, but for ANYTHING”.
Several players even reported experiencing the issue more since the fix. JohnDaviz said: “The funny thing is. When this Bug was known initially I never had any issues.. luckily. Since the “fix” every second to third drop into a new mission fails”.
Another player, rinmperdinck, reported: “It has been so much worse for me since the last patch. Literally looking at an infinite Hellpod screen as I type this”. Mother_Ad3988 added: “It’s weird.. some days I’m completely fine, and other days I have to spend 5 minutes getting into a mission with randoms”.
We find it reassuring that the AH CEO himself has addressed the supposedly fixed issue in Helldivers 2. Obviously, the game is being worked on, with all the patches and all the community engagements. The glitches are being fixed, the developers just need some more time. If you find the issues too tiring, maybe you should take a small break and return when the issues have been resolved. After all, it’s all for fun… and democracy, of course.
