If you are having trouble defeating the Hanged Man Void Intercept Boss in The First Descendant, we can help. When it comes to bringing down a Hanged Man, the strategy is slightly different than with other bosses. The Hanged Man has a mechanic loop that requires players to have a coordinated effort. Moreover, one player has to forgo their damage potential for the team to succeed during this Void Intercept battle.
How to Beat The Hanged Man in The First Descendant
As mentioned, the Hanged Man has a different mechanic from other bosses in the game, and knowing it is the key to victory. Once players enter the arena, they can see an altar with tubes directly beneath the Hanged Man. Periodically, tubes will fill, and once they are full, the boss will launch an instant kill attack that covers an entire arena, bringing all the players down.Â
Luckily, next to the altar is a cube, which players can pick up, and temporarily stop and reverse this process. Once the cube is stolen the Hanged Man will enter an enraged state, and become invulnerable to damage. Moreover, during this time players can shoot the crystal at the mouth of the Hanged Man to stagger it. Additionally, this will reduce the buildup in the tubes, giving players additional time to defeat the boss.
Destroying the crystal in Hanged Man’s mouth will reduce the build-up in the tubes by a significant amount. Moreover, once the second crystal is destroyed the cube should be returned to its starting place. This will end the Hanged Man’s enraged state (and invulnerable), and continue the filling of the tubes. The process of stealing and returning the cube should be repeated until the team brings down this Void Boss. Â
Best Strategy to Beat The Hanged Man in The First Descendant
To bring the Hanged Man easily down, one of the players on your team will have to take on the role of a dedicated runner. Considering that the runner’s job from then on is to watch out for the build-up in the tubes and not focus on dealing damage. Descendants that offer boosts to speed, like Bunny or Viessa should be their first choice. Once a dedicated runner picks up the cube, their job is only to run and avoid the AoE attacks.
While the team’s runner is busy avoiding attacks, the rest of the team should focus on DPS and destroying crystals. The Hanged Man has a vulnerability to Toxin, so taking Freyna is the best choice a team can make. Another Descendant that can provide great support in this fight is Ajax whose Hypercube can save teammates from devastating Electric attacks that this boss uses. This brings us to our last point, Hanged Man uses Electic attacks, so maximizing electric resistance and taking the Electric Antibody Module is recommended.
