is there ever not a good reason to own your games ?

altough, if you buy from limitedgamesrun as a european, u better be prepared to pay double the price haha.

-Foxtrot31d ago

LRG said they were opening an EU warehouse last year yet still nothing has happened

-Foxtrot31d ago

Probably won’t happen but I hope the sales and reviews blow Concords out of the water so Sony will see what we actually like. Might shake the GaaS shit right out of them.

isarai31d ago

Oh the sweet message that would send 😗🤌

Flakegriffin30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

I get disliking GaaS titles but we are in 2024 where online games (GaaS titles) have a huge market. Why is it bad for them to give that an attempt all while delivering single player games? We’ve gotten a ton on PS5 so far and more to come.

I personally dislike GaaS titles but I also hope Sony does good with Concord. The more they see people like their games the more of a chance we can possibly get Socom, Warhawk, Killzone, etc as a fun multiplayer title. I also want Astrobot to kill it in sales so they can see we still love their single player platformer and maybe give us some more new IPs or bring back old ones like Sly Cooper…😭

Cacabunga30d ago

Multiplayer game that we know and gaas are totally different things..
i do not want Concord to succeed because it would give them reason and more gaas will take over.
Which tons of single layer games we got,,?? Nothing PS5 only, 95% are cross gen titles. I think we deserve to see finally what PS5 can do

-Foxtrot30d ago

"The more they see people like their games the more of a chance we can possibly get Socom, Warhawk, Killzone, etc as a fun multiplayer title"

But you won't get that even if they did come back

If their GaaS titles do extremely well them Socom, Warhawk and especially Killzone will come back as pure Live Service shit.

shinoff218330d ago

Unfortunately I feel if Concord blows up it'll send the wrong message, that we want more of the sh.

Tacoboto30d ago

... if a new GaaS IP succeeds, why would they revive an old IP they could have went with in the first place?

Concord doesn't interest me one bit either. I didn't even bother to open the email for the Overwatch crap that came with my graphics card. I'd much rather see Sony give us a Halo-like MP experience with a great sandbox of weapons and maps, like in a new Resistance. Classic arena style Rumble Pit FFA, TDM, Fiesta, SWAT, CTF and their own original modes. I'd pay money for that.

I'm glad Helldivers hit a niche for the PvE crowd but I do not want to see the likes of Concord succeed.

I'm pre-ordering Astro Bot, and not buying Concord. I'm doing my part

Cacabunga30d ago

Reviews are biaised, sales arent.. all for the sales!! Would be sweet to see Astro destroying Concord sales wise!!

shinoff218330d ago

Exactly this. Plus it looks fantastic and fun

__SteakDeck__30d ago

@shinoff2183 Exactly nothing. Foxtrot is a weirdo, who was a weird hatred for GAAS games.

-Foxtrot30d ago

@__SteakDeck__

And you seen to be a massive dickhead who has a thing for calling someone for no reason.

So I'm weird for not like live service shit which has brought in so many anti-consumer practices over the many years and has even went onto ruin studios like Rocksteady for making generic playing crap while chasing these GaaS ambitions?

Yeah I guess I am...sorry for wanting to preserve gaming and not letting everything become about monetisation

__SteakDeck__30d ago

@-Foxtrot. You’re the dickhead, clown. watch your mouth. All I’m saying is that you seem to have this weird hatred for GAAS. You don’t have to buy them, if you hate them. GAAS can be done right, when they’re fun and you don’t monetize the hell out of people. Just look at Helldivers. They’re people that like them. Sony isn’t going to stop making SP games, idk how many times they have to keep saying this. Diversity is good. Sony succeeding with some of these GAAS games is good, because with the rising cost of games, it puts less pressure on their SP games to hit.

Watch my mouth? Sure sure princess after you learn at school to watch yours.

Have fun throwing your toys out of the pram. Much love ✌🏻

They can do GaaS, but asking their studios like Naughty Dog, Guerilla, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, etc.? Absolutely not.

Let Firewalk, Haven, and Bungie do that. Maybe even Polyphony since they drop like one game every generation.

But don't mess with the studios that made you who you are.

Astro bot will and need to sell better than concord send them a message that games like astro bot succeed.

darthv7231d ago

I ordered from VGP and got a free astro plushie in the process.

CobraKai30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

Awww i want an Astro plushie. Does VGP ship to US?

Chocoburger30d ago

It costs $80.99 CAD, and they offer free worldwide shipping for orders over $80 CAD which is perfect. So I'll likely pre-order it from them as well! This lesser-detailed Astro Bot plush seems to be a Canadian exclusive no American store seems to carry it, only Wal-Mart Canada, which sells it for $20 CAD.

However, there is a more detailed version available on FanGamer for $32 USD. Personally, I want to own both!

isarai31d ago

I loved what i saw, i just hope it hits that sweet 10-12hr sweetspot at the very least

Astro's Playroom is like 3 / 5 hours long, depending on if you like to explore the levels and sony has said that its four times bigger

My most wanted game, it looks phenomenal and takes me back to the good years of gaming.

Relientk7710d ago

Getting this day one. It looks amazing, just like Astro's Playroom but this time longer and better

A mighty chunk. Hope this game's a good 12 - 14 hours at least. Might be one of the funnest platinums to get in a while. Day 1 for me and millions of others I bet as well.

Cacabunga10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

As platinum of astro bot is so easy and not fun for a confirmed player.. i went for it because i was missing like 2-3 artifacts and a weird trophy with a rabbit after i finished the game.
I hope the game will be a little more challenging.

Day one nonetheless

Number1TailzFan10d ago

Ya, should start off easy/medium difficulty and slowly ramp up from there to fairly challenging, ideally.

MASTER_RAIDEN10d ago

I couldn’t agree more. I honestly don’t get why everyone is excited for this game. The first one was extremely basic and way too easy. As a glorified presentation of jthw dual sense controller, it was fine I guess. But as a full blown game? It was so forgettable.

DarXyde10d ago

I think the Mario formula is the way to go:

The main game can be pretty chill with some exceptional challenges for those who want to engage with it and go for the platinum.

It's such a great approach.

NotoriousWhiz10d ago

Millions...... and millions.....

just_looken10d ago

" Astro Bot will require approximately 66 GB"

By helicoptergirl logic modern warfare 3 had a 20hr campaign then

This is not on 7th gen consoles file size means nothing this gen

Hypertension14010d ago

Japanese games like resident evil, all soulsborne games, and the evil within, and many others seem to fix large scale games into less than 50gb.

Stanlittle10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

I'm kind of sad this is the ONLY major exclusive coming out this holiday season for PlayStation. So I hope it's S-tier.

Psychonaut8510d ago

Curious to see what that interprets to in terms of length. Cuz there’s a lot of really cool physics simulations in the game, not sure if those are something that would take up much space or not. Either way I’m stoked. They’re going to release free challenge levels after launch as well.

1nsomniac10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Physics simulations aren’t assets they’re calculations and algorithms therefore they take practically no space whatsoever.

The size content will be the same as any other game mostly raw sound files. The rest, mainly hi res textures.

Psychonaut859d ago

Ok cool. I genuinely wasn’t sure, makes sense though. Thanks. So seems to imply it will be sizable then, that’s good.

rlow110d ago

This game not only looks fantastic but will play fantastic. Worth every gig!

Gaming4Life198110d ago

Looks like good fun, definitely picking this up day one.
